In the 1970s, long before artisanal baking became a movement, my mother, Bhagyalaxmi in Mumbai was perfecting her craft in the quietest, most honest way possible, by baking for the people she loved. Her kitchen became a gathering place, her recipes a language of care passed down to us.

For decades, these recipes remained a cherished family secret, served only at our own dining tables. But in 2017, my sister and I asked ourselves: what if everyone could taste what made their childhood so sweet?

Biskut was founded in Ahmedabad to honor that legacy and memory, bringing the same honesty, skill, and joy from our family's kitchen to discerning tables everywhere.
